MissionTrips
Centenary takes part in regular mission trips, bringing help and hope to communities across the US and overseas. Some of these trips are regularly scheduled; others are planned in response to natural disasters and crises as they occur.
Each year, the CUMC junior and senior high youth groups participate in a mission trip, combining hands-on help, faith exploration and fun.
The 2006 Youth Mission Trip took CUMC young people to Nashville, where they worked with a community group providing Bible study and fun for city children, meeting and talking with the city's homeless and conducting a prayer vigil for the city and its people.
In recent years, trips have also included:
- Clean-up in Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina
- Tornado cleanup in Carruthersville, Missouri
- Hurricane Ivan recovery work in Florida
- Henderson Settlement in Kentucky
- Nicaragua with Rainbow Network.
